#2 | April 2026

Welcome to our monthly newsletter

Good morning

Our theme this month: Momentum.

Following on from the spritiually awakening month of Ramadan, many of us aim to keep those good, healthy habits going but unfortunately the weight of everyday life often bears heavier than we anticipated and our momentum slows down during the month of Shawwal and beyond.

So how do we keep it up without overwhelming ourselves? How do we maintain our relationship with Allah strong, and keep ourselves intertwined with Islam consistently throughout the year?

April has been a reflective, beautiful and joyous spring month for us where we’ve tried to hit certain goals but also slow down to appreciate how things are.

For this month we went to Greenwich. A beautiful part of south London filled with greenery, stunning views and amazing historical architecture.

Starting with a long walk in the park we headed up to the viewpoint at the top which boasts gorgeous views of the London skyline. After multiple photos and a peak through the gate to where the timezone starts, we walked down and took a trip through the Queen’ House. A lovely, quaint museum and formerly a royal residence, the museum is full of beautiful art, sculptures and historical artefacts. Pictured here is the famous Armada Portrait of Elizabeth I.

Greenwich is known for its historical sites and beautiful buildings, the university sits just across from the park and the walkways and green spaces are open to the public. The chapel is also open for viewings and has free entry daily from 10am to 5pm.

We took some lovely photos of the chapel before walking across the green and to the market full of food, clothes and vintage pieces. Independent sellers and small businesses thrive in the heartwarming Greenwich where you can find anything from second hand books to jewellery and clothes, all while eating a hot churro.

We highly recommend Greenwich for a beautiful day out full of food and gorgeous photo ops.

Minor Detail is a heartbreaking story written by Palestinian author Adana Shibli. The story opens with an Israeli soldier during the nakbah recounting the events where a Palestinian girl is killed in an Israeli soldier camp. The story then continues, 20 years later where a Palestinian journalist begins researching the events of the nakba and travels into the controlled areas of Israel to write a story about the events. The reader is taken on a terrifying journey into Israel. Through the eyes of a young Palestinian, we go from checkpoint to checkpoint with the protagonist and feel every shred of anxiety and fear that pollutes the lives of Palestinians every day.
